Interview with BMORE Lifestyle
Let me start by saying these last few weeks have been crazy! I never thought that this moment would lead to an on-air segment by Fox 5 Studios. Nonetheless, here we are. Recently, I helped organize a creative meet up in Baltimore called “Taking the First Step” at the Pivot Co-Working Space. The concept of the meet up was to create an intimate social setting where creatives could speak openly about the challenges that hinder them from taking the first step. As I was planning and organizing the event, I thought about pitching this to the news station for a potential segment. Once the idea came alive in my mind, I raced to type the email before I could talk myself out of it, and then I hit the send button. A few days later, I received an email and phone call from the TV producer who was interested in learning more about the event, and some of the common challenge’s entrepreneurs face. After the call, we set up the date and filmed a week later. On the day of the event, the TV segment aired.
What I learned from this experience is that you can’t receive the blessing if you are afraid to ask. The ideas and thoughts that lay awake in our hearts will never come to fruition if we don’t ask the question; we need to ask to make them a reality, followed up with action. Before fear had the opportunity to rob me of that moment, I had to act on it, and it was one of the best decisions I had ever made - hands down!
Watching yourself on TV is the weirdest and coolest experience, and I’m thankful for the opportunity. It’s something I got to scratch off my bucket list as I celebrated my 31st birthday that weekend. It’s a dope way to go out! I hope you enjoy the video, and special thanks to everyone who came out for the event. Coffee cheers!
