My Current Reads for June

I have heard that wisdom is granted only to those who ask and seek it. In today’s society, with smart phones and tablets on every commercial, it may seem that wisdom is only an app away. Yet, with so much knowledge why do we still struggle with infinite wisdom? My father always taught me that every idea, thought or solution is only a book away and he was right. Books contain proven principles that we can still apply today. But what are some books that can help any young creative early in his/her teens to late thirties? I will list a few books that I personally enjoyed for the month of  June that will help you on your path to success and self-discovery.

Creating a mindset.

When it comes to your mind “as a man thinketh in his heart so is he.” This is the message in Napoleon Hill’s “Think and Grow Rich.” Contrary to the book title, this book does not talk about riches in the way we expect. Napoleon uses this book to interview successful people from the likes of Thomas Edison, John D. Rockefeller and Andrew Carnage to find the common thread to success. As Napoleon Hill profiles these successful people, some of the stand out traits that he discovered was the power of thought and definite purpose. Without discovering your purpose and the required thoughts to help you reach your purpose, you will never find your way to wealth. Every man tries to find the secret to success, wealth and prosperity and all of this and more can be found in Think and Grow Rich. I mean, it is one of the best-selling books of all-time.

Money Principles!

If you’re looking for wisdom in money management, no book can teach you more and better about it than “The Richest Man in Babylon.” The story is written in parables that happen around Arkad who teaches how he reached the level of financial success through life principles to insure a future income, increasing your ability to earn and compound interest. If you research or watch any interview with a financial or accounting experts, I guarantee they all have read or come across this book at-least once.

 Life lessons.

What if someone could tell you what living your last days on earth would feel like before you die? And about many life’s lessons that we don’t pay attention or notice until we finally have to. That’s the story of this book about Mitch Albom favorite teacher who is dying from ALS, a debilitating disease, in the book “Tuesdays with Morrie.” After losing connection with his professor in college, Mitch once again reunites with his professor only to hear his last lesson and the subject is “death.” Morrie teaches Mitch lessons about forgiveness, regret, love and acceptance and all things Mitch could put into practice. Even though the end is a tear jerker, Tuesdays with Morrie is a book that you can read every year and take away a new meaning every-time.

Because I'm always buying books on the go I want to personally share some of my favorite picks every month. I usually snapchat or instagram the books that I read but I want to also add them on my blog for people to check-out and reference. I'm always interested to hear people feedback when it comes to books so if you have read any of these and would like to share your thoughts feel free to drop a comment!
